Karim Hanna, MD, FAAFP, FAMIA

Founding Program Director

Associate Professor, Department of Family Medicine · USF Morsani College of Medicine

Dr. Hanna is a board-certified Family Physician and Clinical Informaticist. His academic interests include health informatics, primary care education, and technology-enhanced learning. He founded the USF TGH Family Medicine Residency and serves as its Program Director.

Why USF TGH?I came to USF because of the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up — a residency rooted in academic rigor, community health, and genuine mentorship. Tampa General Hospital gives our residents access to a truly complex, diverse patient population, while USF’s culture of innovation lets us train physicians who are ready for the future of primary care.

Meghan Coles, MEd

Program Coordinator

Meghan manages the day-to-day operations of the residency program, including scheduling, ACGME compliance, GME reporting, and resident onboarding. She is the primary point of contact for applicants, rotating students, and current residents.
